What Data We Collect

When you apply to join the DevStage Expert Network via our /join page, we collect:

• Personal information: name, email, phone (optional), LinkedIn profile, location/timezone
• Professional information: CV/resume, portfolio links, years of experience, skills
• Business information: B2B entity status, hourly rate expectations
• Expertise descriptions: specialization, unique value, additional information you provide

How We Use Your Data

We use your information solely for recruitment purposes:

• Reviewing your application and assessing fit for our expert network
• Matching you with relevant Backstage/DevEx projects from our clients
• Contacting you when project opportunities appear
• Managing our expert database and tracking project placements

If you opt in to marketing communications, we may also send you occasional emails about Backstage projects, DevEx news, and DevStage updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Legal Basis

We process your data based on your explicit consent (the checkbox you tick in the application form). By applying, you agree to processing of your personal data for recruitment purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in our Airtable database with access restricted to authorized DevStage personnel only.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Data Retention

We retain your application data for up to 24 months from the date you apply. After this period, your data will be automatically deleted unless:

• You are actively engaged in projects with our clients
• You have been matched to projects within the 24-month period (we extend retention while active)

Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties except:

• When matching you to a client project, we may share your CV, portfolio, and relevant information with the client (with your prior knowledge and consent for that specific project)
• Service providers that help us operate our database (e.g., Airtable) - they are bound by data processing agreements

We will never sell your data or use it for purposes other than recruitment and project matching.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of your data we hold
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data at any time
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw your consent at any time (we will delete your data)

Updates to Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email (if you provided one) or via prominent notice on our website.
